Conference Delivers Cutting-Edge Endocrinology Education

Over 120 physicians, residents, fellows, and students attended this year's Annual Meeting at the Grove Park Inn, where attendees enjoyed opportunities for networking and educational sessions focused on the latest developments in endocrinology. Topics included advances in diabetes technology for older adults, updates on type 1 and type 2 diabetes in pregnancy, obesity management, and new treatment insights for lipoprotein(a). Additional presentations explored PCOS, adrenal insufficiency, thyroid nodule guidelines, adrenal incidentalomas, and the prevention of kidney disease in diabetes. The program also included advocacy updates, the annual business meeting, and the scientific poster session for residents, fellows, and students.

Winners of the Poster Session:

1st place  - Twyla M. Kidd, DO (Internal Medicine) at Grand Strand Medical Center - "Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in a Patient with Hypothroidism"

2nd place - Madison A Miner (MS2) Wake Forest University School of Medicine- "A New and Untimely Presentation of Methimazole-Induced Agranulocytosis"

3rd place - Thomas A Kirby, DO (Internal Medicine) Carolinas Medical Center Internal Medicine - "Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor with ACTH Secretion Causing Ectopic Cushing's"
