Thank you to all who attended the 2026 NCSP Annual Meeting
April 17-18, 2026 | The Ballantyne Hotel
Nearly 65 physicians, residents, fellows, and students gathered at the Ballantyne Hotel in Charlotte for the 2026 NC Society of Pathologists Annual Meeting. The event began with a welcome reception and a dinner presentation highlighting the global impact of pathology in cancer care. The main day featured a full schedule of scientific sessions focused on diagnostic pathology, particularly gastrointestinal and breast diseases, along with updates on tumor classification, cancer staging, and advances like next-generation sequencing. The program also included a College of American Pathologists update, a society business meeting, and a session addressing workforce challenges such as recruitment and retention.
Thank you to NCSP President Diana M. Cardona, MD, FCAP, and all of the NCSP Executive Committee members for their hard work on this successful event!

NCSP Mentorship Program

The North Carolina Society of Pathologists, in collaboration with the society’s Trainee Advisory Council, is sponsoring a mentorship program for trainees in our state. This program will match interested residents and fellows from the four NC training programs with volunteer practicing pathologists. The goal is to foster a meaningful and collaborative relationship that provides trainees opportunities to learn from pathologists in various practice settings. The participants are asked to commit to the program for one year with the hopes of building a relationship that is rewarding for both parties. Participation is completely voluntary, and this is not a legally binding agreement or contract. Learn more and apply...
